Planned giving from your estate is a favored method of giving that enables you to achieve your financial goals and benefit Baypath Humane Society. Our Helen G. Miller Legacy Society includes our donors who have made a planned gift, and those anticipating making one. A planned gift is simple to make, yet easy to change should you ever need the assets during your lifetime.
Your careful planning as an animal lover today can result in a critical and meaningful impact for the future animals of Baypath Humane Society. Planned giving can also take the form of tax relief for your heirs, while preserving your philanthropic spirit. It provides financial stability for Baypath Humane Society and the thousands of animals we serve.
Each of these options may help you reduce your estate taxes. Furthermore, gifts made through beneficiary designations do not need to be made using a will, offer flexibility, and are easy to set up:
Please consult your financial planner or legal advisor for advice when considering estate options.

Sandra Powell, Member of The Helen G. Miller Legacy Society (Posthumous)
Sandra Powell was an accomplished professor and an avid dog lover. Her greatest love was spending time with her own dogs camping and hiking. Sandra also loved learning more about dogs in general, often attending seminars of her dear friend and renowned behaviorist Kelley Bollen, MS, CABC.
With her passing, her enduring wish via the Sandra Powell Charitable Trust was to help support shelters and rescues working to help dogs in need.
Sandra believed in strong animal welfare programs geared at assessing and addressing behavior needs, as well as engaging in thorough matchmaking discussions. It was her wish that trust proceeds to be used to bolster foster care and enrichment programs, as well as improve the physical housing conditions and overall quality of stay for dogs in shelters.
We are so grateful to be able to help more dogs in honor of Sandra.
